FAQs

What is physology?

The Physology Method is a ground breaking treatment which was created by our Founder and leading Premier League pain expert James Tyrell-Nestor.

A bringing together of research that began over 80 years ago means this treatment method is based on a modern understanding of anatomy. A whole body approach is taken with an understanding for the interconnection between all parts of the body.

This enables practitioners to find the root cause of pain which can be away from the site of pain.

What types of problems can physology help with?

Common conditions treated include back pain, neck pain, sprains, strains, arthritis, bursitis, tennis elbow, workplace and sports injuries, problems with posture, reduced mobility and any physical chronic pain condition.

Why see a physology practitioner?

We are experts in the treatment of chronic pain conditions, if you’ve tried other treatments such as Physiotherapy, Chiropractory, Osteopathy, Sports Massage without success we can help you.

What does the treatment involve?

Our Physology Practitioners use different treatment methods in order to deal with a wide range of injuries. Depending on the nature and severity of your injury, you may require:

  • Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy or other soft tissue work
  • Manipulation or mobilization of joints
  • Exercise therapy
  • Stretching and strengthening
  • Core stability training
  • Patient education, home exercises
  • Biomechanical analysis

Is physology appropriate for back and neck pain problems?

Yes. Back and neck problems are among the most common types of problems seen in our clinic and respond very well to Physology.

When I experience pain or injure myself, how long should I wait before seeking treatment?

This depends on the severity of your injury. If you feel it is only a minor injury and you have minimal pain try following our advice on how to treat recent injuries. If after 48 hours it is still painful you should contact the clinic for an appointment. If the injury is more serious you should try to make an appointment as soon as possible.

How quickly will I be seen for my first appointment?

We will always endeavour to offer you an appointment as soon as possible. Our clinics get very busy particularly on an evening and weekend.

What can I expect on my first appointment?

You will walk away from your first appointment (consultation) with an understanding of your symptoms, an understanding of the root cause and an understanding of a clear treatment process.

You will also have received treatment and your symptoms will have been affected within the session. Moving forward you will continue to feel changes each session until you are pain free.
